The American Heart Association ECG & Pharmacology Course has been updated to reflect the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. This classroom-based, Facilitator-led course is designed to improve electrocardiogram (ECG) recognition skills and pharmacology knowledge for treating cardiovascular emergencies. This course is for healthcare professionals who participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and others who require this specialized knowledge for their job.

Flexible intructional format with two units- ECG (Electrocardiogram) and Pharmacology - that be taught together or separately

Course Format:
ECG & Pharmaology is a classroom-based, Facilitator-led course that includes two modules: ECG and Pharmacology, which may be offered together or separately.
ECG takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete; Pharmacology takes about 2.75 hours to complete. When combined, the estimated course length is 6.25 hours.

Course Features:
• Explain heart anatomy and basic electrophysiology
• Explain normal ECG measurements
• Recognize basic arrhythmias
• List basic ACLS drugs, describe drugs, doses, and routes of administration.

Target Audience: Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, EMTs, Paramedics, Advanced EMTs, Respiratory Therapists, ECG Techs.

Upon completion of this course, students receive a certificate of completion.

Students travel from Turlock, Ceres, Modesto, Riverbank, Oakdale, Hilmar, Los Banos, Livingston, Atwater, Merced, Chowchilla, La Grange, Sonora, Ripon, Manteca, Tracy, Stockton, Lodi, Sacramento, California to take a BLS for Health Care Providers Class at First Lady Permanente Education Center. Classes are American Heart Association Certified, serving all Stanislaus County, Merced County and San Joaquin County.
