Nurse Assistant Program:

This (173) hour program, 22 days consisting of (72) hours of theory and (100) hours of clinical experience plus 1-hour clinical orientation is required for a certificate of completion. The Nurse Assistant program is a course leading to an entry level career in the health care industry. The course emphasizes care of the older adult client and assistance with the activities of daily living; bathing, dressing, exercise, movement, eating, eliminating, safety measures, and rehabilitation techniques. The Nurse Assistant Program also provides clinical instruction. Students will practice skills in lab and then be assigned to assist clients in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Enrollment Fee:
To enroll in the program a non-refundable fee of $250.00 is due at time of enrollment into the program. If student chooses to cancel their enrollment, the fee will not be refunded (no exceptions). The remainder cost $1,390.00 covers all the following: Tuition, set scrubs, student workbook, AHA BLS Course, State Test, course materials. Textbook not included- ARC 4th Ed ISBN 978-158480708-7 newest version 2018.

Course Completion Certificate:
Upon successfully completing the Nurse Assistant Program (176 Hours) the student will then be enrolled to take the State Certificate Exam and must pass in order to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

Pre-Requisites:
The program is open to the general public for admission, student must have a high school diploma or 18-years of age, Valid Identification Card, Social Security Card. A Healthcare Provider (AHA) BLS class session is provided at no cost in the course, students have the option to take the course prior however the cost will not be reimbursed. All enrolled students are required to attend an orientation must schedule with admissions office (209) 250-1200. By the first day of program students are required to have: One negative TB Test (Alternatives: Chest X-ray or QuintiFERON TB Gold), Physical Release documented on school form, negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of program, current immunizations (titers or shot record) and Livescan Background CDPH form. Student is responsible for applicable charges.

Attendance:
Students must attend all scheduled hours program total 172. If a student is sick and unable to attend program hours, they are only cleared to make-up a max of 8- hours for clinical sessions only Doctors Note applies for waived fees.

Payment Plan:
Students have the option to go on a weekly payment plan the duration of the program, payments are due on (Friday's) each week of program sessions - processed by the Administrative Department.

The CNA course is a great course where I have learned a lot. Doing clinical and theory is a good combination to learn and practice all the skills. Once you get to work with the residents it's a great experience because you know you are making a difference. I would recommend this course.
