Program Description:
Our (Pending) Paramedic Program prepares students to deliver advanced prehospital emergency medical care with professionalism, skill, and compassion. Paramedicine is the practice of providing advanced life support and critical medical interventions to patients experiencing emergencies outside the hospital setting. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, clinical experience, and supervised field internships, students will gain comprehensive knowledge in anatomy and physiology, cardiology, pharmacology, and trauma management. Participants will learn to perform advanced procedures such as airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency patient assessments. The knowledge and skills acquired through the program will prepare students to meet the professional responsibilities outlined in the Paramedic scope of practice per the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, and to meet certificate standards for Paramedics as outlined by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Credit Value: 39 units (includes field and clinical experience)

Prerequisite:
Must have an active EMT license and complete a paramedic prep course. To challenge the pre-paramedic exam please use link to submit testing fee: https://www.firstladypermanente.com/product_p/01011.htm The testing fee of $150.00 is required to sit and take exam. Experienced EMTs have one-attempt to challenge the pre-paramedic exam (per paramedic cohort) at our Turlock campus located at 901 Geer Road, Turlock.

Application and Registration Process:
Application process is put on hold until final approval is issued by SCEMSA.

1) Submit the $75.00 non-refundable application fee, all applicants must have met the minimum prerequisites and complete all steps to the registration process to be considered.
2) Confirmation is sent via email containing instructions for the assessment and a link to the Paramedic Application.
3) Register for the required Paramedic Program Assessment tool
4) Take the Fisdap Assessment
a) Exam can be taken through Fisdap directly using school course ID 235377 First Lady Permanente school to ensure school receives results. Questions contact Fisdap customer service at 1-978-443-5000 or email [email protected] Applicant will be responsible to
b) In person testing can be conducted at First Lady Permanente located at 901 Geer Road, Turlock at our administrative division. Dates available are listed at our site, you may also email [email protected] to schedule exam test date. Must bring a reliable laptop and applicant will be responsible to pay test fee to Fisdap directly.
5) A virtual interview with the school's chief academic officer will be scheduled once Fisdap Entrance Exam is complete. Interview takes place via zoom or phone.
6) Complete the application and return by mail or scanned copy via email including copies of all required documentation. Completed application must be submitted at least (60) days prior to the course start date. Applications received less than (60) days prior to course date will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
7) If accepted, an in person enrollment appointment will be scheduled with our admissions department located at 901 Geer Road, Turlock, CA 95380. Tuition and fees are due a minimum 2 weeks prior to the first of class. A position in the course is not secured until a tuition payment has been received.

Monthly payment plan: approximately $1,054.00 plus processing fees. Other fees: Field internship fee, textbook are not included.
Additional fees: Textbook, medical records clearance fees, field placement fee, CA State licensing fees, NREMT exam.

Note: Students have a maximum of (12) months to complete all program requirements. Clinical and field schedules vary per student.

Accreditation Status:
First Lady Permanente program holds a Letter of Review, which is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, but is a status granted by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. However, it is NOT guaranteed of eventual accreditation.

Accreditation Disclosure Statement
In accordance with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 9, Article 3, section 100092.01, the following information is provided to all applicants prior to enrollment in the Paramedic Training Program:
1) Accreditation Application Status
The Paramedic Training Program received a Letter of Review (LOR) from the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Program for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) on November 12, 2025, indicating the program has entered the accreditation process and is authorized to seek initial accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
2) Accreditation Timeline
The Paramedic Training Program is seeking initial accreditation through CAAHEP. Initial accreditation must be obtained within the timeframe established by CoAEMSP and CAAHEP following issuance of the Letter of Review.
At the time of enrollment, the program holds Letter of Review status and is not yet accredited by CAAHEP. Applicant will be required to sign an Accreditation Disclosure Statement prior to enrollment.
