Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by The American Heart Association is a video based course taught by highly qualified instructors in a classroom using simulated pediatric emergencies. The students have to complete the PALS course and pass 1 and 2 Rescuer child and 1 and 2 Rescuer Infant, both with BLS with AED skills tests to get the course completion card, which is valid for two years. They are taught to give systematic pediatric assessment and provide cardiac and respiratory emergency services. The course lasts for 14 hours and 10 minutes, and the renewal course lasts for about eight hours and 20 minutes.
