Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

(American Heart Association Course) servicing Turlock-CA, Merced-CA, Modesto-CA and Stockton-CA Locations

Pediatric First Aid CPR AED by The American Heart Association is a Heartsaver course specifically designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States (Online versions are not accepted). The course teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED, Adult CPR AED and Asthma Care Training.

NOTE: CALIFORNIA STATE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW ONLINE TRAINING FOR LICENSED CHILD CARE PROVIDERS. THIS COURSE IS THE ONLY CLASSROOM VERSION THAT IS ACCEPTED F YOU ARE A CHILDCARE PROVIDER OR COMPANY OPERATING IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

Intended Audience: Childcare Providers such as camp counselors, child care workers, preschool teachers, preschool directors, coaches, foster care workers, others responsible for children including parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians, teachers, teacher aids, youth group leaders, after school teacher assistants.

Course Content:

a.) Pediatric first aid basics
Illnesses and injuries (topics included but are not limited to)
  1. Bleeding and bandaging
  2. Allergic reactions
  3. How to use an epinephrine pen
  4. Asthma
  5. Epi Pen
  6. Drowning
  7. Bites and stings
  8. Burns

a.) CPR AED Choking
Illnesses and injuries (topics included but are not limited to)
  1. CPR and AED for children
  2. How to help a choking child
  3. CPR for infants
  4. How to help a choking infant
  5. CPR and AED for adults (optional)
  6. How to help a choking adult (optional)

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED completion card valid for two years. (EMSA Approved throughout all 50 states)
During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their first aid, CPR and AED skills practice, and CPR and AED skills testing.
*Card Provided same day of class- American Heart Association (2 Year Card)

Student Materials: Students are required to each bring the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook (90-1074). Sharing a book or using copies is prohibited by the American Heart Association.
