Vocational Nursing Program:
This completion of the Vocational Nursing Program requires four (4) terms. It includes academic work and clinical experience in order to meet the basic curriculum guidelines set forth in section 2531-2535, Rules and Regulations of the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician. The Vocational Nursing Program is (1,539) hours designed to prepare students to perform basic nursing skills using nursing process, safety administer medications to individuals or groups of clients, pass the licensing examination after graduation, and competently practice as a licensed nurse throughout the cycle of life. Students completing the vocational nursing program will receive a program completion certificate and will be eligible to tale the licensed examination to become a a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California by passing the (NCLEX-®PN). LVN's practice under the guidance of a registered nurse, licensed physician or dentist in acute, long-term, in-home care, schools, community or other healthcare setting.
The VN program is guided by the concept of a person as a unified whole, not a collection of systems, organs and cells that can be studied separate from his/her total being. Therefore, instruction is based on a system approach that treats man (or person) as a unified whole processing his own integrity and manifesting characteristic that are more than different from the sums of his parts.
This course of training is consistent with the rules and regulations from the Vocational Nursing Practice Act, including amendments through July 31, 2015 as delineated in Article 5 section 2518.5 Scope of Vocational Nursing Practice regarding Licensed Vocational Nurses. Students will graduate based on completing the 1539-hour program. The Vocational Nursing program is designed to prepare students for employment in the following occupations: Acute Medical/ Surgical Hospitals, Convalescent hospitals (long term care, SNF-skilled nursing facilities), home care agencies, outpatient clinics, Doctor's offices, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis centers, blood banks, psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities, and vocational nursing programs.
Licensed vocational nurses typically do the following:
1) Monitor patient's health-for example, by checking their blood pressure
2) Administer basic patient care, including changing bandages and inserting catheters
3) Provide for basic comfort of patients, such as helping them bathe or dress
4) Discuss the care they are providing with patients and listen to their concerns
5) Report patient's status and concerns to registered nurses and doctors
6) Keep record on patient's health

Enrollment Fee:
To enroll in the program a non-refundable fee of $250.00 is due at time of enrollment into the program. If student chooses to cancel their enrollment, the fee will not be refunded (no exceptions). The remainder cost $36,700 covers all the following: Tuition, 2-sets of scrubs/ ID, workbook, lab materials, ATI student platform, Canvas student platform, study group sessions. The following fees are not included: Program books, NCLEX® PN exam fee for certification, state licensing fee/ live scan for LVN license. Wait list Policy: Students that enroll on the wait list will be provided a refund option of $225.00 only if they attend orientation and are not accepted off the waitlist; otherwise, the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Course Completion Certificate:
Upon successfully completing the Vocational Nursing Program (1539 Hours) the student will then be enrolled to take the NCLEX®PN Exam and must pass in order to become a Certified Vocational Nurse (LVN). Additional testing and licensing fees apply.

Eligibility for Enrollment:
The program is limited, and program requirements must be met in order to be eligible for enrollment. It is the applicant's responsibility to complete all application requirements/ procedures. Failure to meet these requirements will result in an incomplete enrollment, therefore, may not be considered for selection. All applicants must meet the following requirements, prior to submitting $250.00 enrollment fee, questions please contact admission office at (209) 250-1200 option 5:

2.) Valid US Identification- Government ID, Social Security Card
3.) Applicants must be at least 17 years of age (section 2866a, VN Nursing Practice Act).
4.) High School Diploma or equivalent. Have the ability to read and write English at the level of a graduate or an American high school. If submitting a foreign transcript or diploma- must provide an academic evaluation of US equivalency.
5.) ATI TEAS (ADN) Entrance Exam with a score of 60 minimum within 12-months of the program start date, and or 65 score within 24-36 months. Submit transcripts to [email protected]. ATI Registration Link Prepare before attempting the exam TEAS prep
6.) Provide (2) letters of recommendation from an employer in the healthcare field. Co-workers at a higher level is sufficient. (Letters are due at group orientation)

Medical Records:
Enrolled students must complete the following medical records by the first day of the program:
1.) Proof of immunizations much be provided during course with copy of your healthcare insurance card (or declination form), must include records or titers for: 3- Hep B shots, 2 MMR shots, 2 varicella shots and Tdap within 10 years.
2.) Provide two negative TB's one within a year and the 2nd within 90 days of program; or chest X-ray with negative results (QuintiFERON TB Gold blood test is an alternative to skin tests or X-ray)- Must be current the duration of program through clinical dates.
3.) Negative 10-panel drug test within (30) days from start date and second test during term 4.
4.) Students must clear a background check through. mybackgroundcheck.com "student version". 5.) Physical exam with release to participate in program documented on form provided by school. Physical requirements: Lift light to moderately heavy objects. The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 points are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried. Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination. Talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching and twisting. Student will be required to travel to an externship site. 6.) A Current American Heart Association BLS CPR Card must be active the duration of the program. 7.) Covid-19 Vaccination: First Lady Permanente does NOT require the covid vaccination. To attend clinical rotations, students may be required to sign an exemption form or provide covid-19 vaccination card.

Attendance:
Students must attend all scheduled program hours. If a student is sick and unable to attend program hours, a Doctors note will waive up to (16) hours for the duration of the program at no additional fees; however, time must be made up per state program guidelines. Student must attend first day of program, otherwise, they forfeit their spot in the program and the enrollment fee is non-refundable and the orientation fee is non-refundable. Students must plan accordingly for travel time to the Turlock Campus for didactic and the clinical sites.

Revised Program Dates:
Due to unpredicted circumstances, the institution has the right to revise the start date of the Vocational Nursing program and or dates during the program. The school will make every effort to ensure the schedule is comparable to the original assigned. All program payments and active records will be transferred for students that accept the new program start date, including TEAS passing score and letters of recommendation will be transferred. In the event an enrolled student declines transferring to the new program start date they will be given a full refund of all program fees, excluding the non-refundable enrollment fee of $250.00. Note: The school will make every effort to ensure the schedule is comparable to the original assigned.

Wait List Policy:
(First 10 on wait list will have a 90% chance to get accepted into program).
Students must attend the scheduled group orientation meeting to be considered acceptance off the waitlist. The $250.00 enrollment fee is required to secure a spot on the wait list, this fee is only refundable if student attends mandatory group orientation meeting and is not accepted off the wait list. The enrollment fee of $250.00 will be processed for a refund minus the $25.00 processing fee, a total of $225.00 will be credited to the student's original form of payment. However, students that are on the wait list and not accepted into the program may also transfer the full enrollment fee of $250.00 to the next available program.

Payment Plan:
Students have the option to go on a bi-weekly payment plan the duration of the program, payments are due the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month- processed by the admission department by 11:59pm. Cash payments must be submitted to the Admissions Office during business hours Tuesdays - Thursdays 10:00am - 4:00pm by appointment. Late fees apply to accounts that fall behind. Students that do not want financing option with First Lady Permanente may use their own lender. Payments accepted: business check, cashiers check, money order, cash, credit card: visa, amex, discover, mastercard, PayPal. Note: Verification of funding must be approved and provided to the institution by the group orientation date, otherwise student may be placed on a wait list.
